Berneslai Café bags best café award at the Best of Barnsley awards
Berneslai Café, has been named the winner in the best cafe category at the Best of Barnsley Retail and Leisure Awards on Friday.
The award winning café , which is part of Experience Barnsley Museum and based in the town’s iconic town hall building, serves a selection of tasty treats which include freshly ground coffees, teas, simple breakfasts’, delicious lunches and cakes.
As well as outstanding food the café regularly hosts community events including the Berneslai Memory Café, which is a twice monthly social event for people suffering with dementia and their families and carers.
The Best of Barnsley Retail and Leisure Awards showcases the best of what these two vibrant sectors have to offer and represents outstanding businesses in the area.
Tom Carbery, café owner, said: “We are delighted to receive such an accolade and are ecstatic to be chosen as the winner of this award. The aim has always been to create a relaxing and friendly environment where people come to eat and enjoy spending time with friends, family and business colleagues.’
