- Pupils will learn about changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age e.g. late Neolithic hunter-gatherers and early farmers
- Pupils will improve their mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing, painting and sculpture with a range of materials (for example, pencil, charcoal, paint, clay)
The activities were created as part of our ‘Stone Age to Iron Age’ workshop at Experience Barnsley Museum. We have adapted them to share online during the period of school closures and social distancing. They can be carried out either in the classroom or at home – suggestions have been made for moderations if you are home schooling and do not have access to some resources.
It is suggested that you start with the Prehistoric and Historic timeline activity to check children’s understanding of chronology before you do the other activities.
