Memory Café at Berneslai Café

A very special event is taking place at the Berneslai Café located in Barnsley’s iconic Town Hall on Sunday, 28 August from 11 am until 2 pm. Barnsley Rockley Rotary Club has sponsored a Memory Café, which will be a social event for people suffering with dementia and their families and carers.

Barnsley Museums secure over £70,000 worth of funding

Barnsley Museums have secured funding of £79,200 from Arts Council England to help develop their charitable organisation. Barnsley Museum Heritage Trust supports the work of Barnsley Museums and has an active role in fundraising for the five sites which include; Cannon Hall, Worsbrough Mill, Elsecar Heritage, Experience Barnsley and the Cooper Gallery.

Barnsley Museums celebrate Yorkshire Day

Barnsley Museums will be celebrating all things Yorkshire on Monday 1 August. To honour Yorkshire Day there will be special craft activities taking place in the town’s award winning museum, Experience Barnsley. Visitors are invited to head over to the gallery and ‘Fly the flag for Yorkshire’. There will be everything needed at the craft activity to make a flag to celebrate the proud county.

Celebrating the best of Barnsley

A public art project celebrating the ‘Best of Barnsley’ will be launched at this Saturdays Mayor’s Parade. The campaign, which has been funded by the Arts Council, pays tribute to the people of the borough who have achieved great things and received recognition at national or international level.
