Experience Barnsley are delighted to showcase artworks created by Patrica Wroe and Peter Hardy on a new community focused gallery wall in the museum. The team at Deangate Care Home, Mapplewell reached out to the museum, after discovering the artistic talents of residents Pat and Peter. Pat took up painting when she was 89, and she is busy creating beautiful paintings, proving that art can be taken up at any time of life. Peter has a lifelong interest in photogrpahy, his work supporting his wellbeing and providing a way to express himself through his lens. The Mayor and Mayoress of Barnsley offically revelated their art in a celebratory event for family and friends this July.
