Currently, we do not have all our collections catalogued online and sometimes archive collections relating to the Barnsley borough are held elsewhere. This is due to various historic and geographic reasons. If you can't find what you are looking for we recommend contacting us or alternatively checking Discovery, The National Archives' online catalogue, which lists holdings for the country.

eBooks, Digital Magazines and Newspapers
We work together with Barnsley Libraries to bring you a great selection of ebooks, digital magazines and newspapers to read on your devices. We have books relating to the history of Barnsley and surrounding areas, along with texts written by local authors to inspire you. Look out for resources for researching family history, such as the latest popular magazines and a selection of books. There is also access to recent editions of the Barnsley Chronicle as well as other newspapers such as the Yorkshire Post and Huddersfield Daily Examiner. To read our range of ebooks, digital magazines and newspapers you will need to be a member of Barnsley Libraries with a valid library card and PIN.
